A lucky Christchurch Lotto player will be over the moon after winning $1 million with First Division on Wednesday night.

The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player from Christchurch City.

Wednesday's winning numbers were 4, 5, 12, 13, 28 and 34. The bonus ball was 24 and powerball was 4.

Powerball was not struck on Wednesday evening and has rolled over to Saturday night, where the jackpot will be $8 million.

Strike Four also rolled over and will be $1 million on Saturday, meaning it will be a "must be won" draw.

In a Strike must be won draw, if no single ticket wins First Division, the prize pool is added to the next highest division with a winner, according to Lotto NZ.

Meanwhile, nine lucky players will be celebrating a midweek windfall after each winning $22,214 with Lotto Second Division. One lucky player also won Powerball Second Division, taking their total winnings to $34,693.

The winning Powerball Second Division ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player from central Otago. The winning Second Division tickets were sold at Fresh For Less in Mt Wellington, Ngātea Lotto & Foodmart, Paper Plus Mt Maunganui, Napier City Pak'nSave and Palmerston North Pak'nSave.

MyLotto players in Auckland, Waitakere, Palmerston North and central Otago also won.

"Anyone who bought their ticket from on MyLotto should check their ticket as soon as possible on MyLotto or through the MyLotto App," a spokesperson said.
