Givealittle launched for Kiwis to donate for victims

A page for Kiwis to donate money to the victims of the Mosque shootings has been created on Givealittle.

Already the official page, launched by the New Zealand Council of Victim Support Groups, has raised more than $17,000.

"This is the official Victim Support donation page for victims of the Canterbury shootings," NZCVSG wrote.

"Dozens of families have been bereaved and many more injured by today's horrific shootings.

"They deserve our help and support! All donations received to this page will be used to provide support and resources for people affected by the Christchurch shootings and their family members."

So many people have been trying to visit the page that it has been experiencing loading difficulties and is intermittently crashing.

Forty-nine people have been killed in attacks on Christchurch mosques, with more seriously injured.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has described the events as a "terrorist attack".

Three people are in custody after the series of simultaneous attacks across Christchurch.

One of those people, a male in his late twenties, has been charged with murder.

He will appear in court on Saturday morning.
