All Blacks great Dan Carter will don the Southbridge jersey for the first time in six years this afternoon against West Melton.
The recent Blues recruit is using the clash as a warm-up for his potential return to Super Rugby in coming weeks.
"I'm hopeful to get down there and pull on the blue-and-white of the Southbridge hoops this weekend," Carter told Newshub this week.
"The last three weeks have been pretty intense training… gradually building up my contact and getting my confidence back for playing again, so a bit of club rugby would be good."
Carter could be available to debut for the Blues against his former Crusaders side in Christchurch next weekend.
