Actually, that was quite moving.

9:20pm - Final teams are in and will take the field as named...

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of State of Origin II - New South Wales v Queensland from Sydney.

State v state, mate v mate.

Yes, the Maroons sprung a huge upset at Adelaide seven days ago, rallying from 10-0 down at halftime to prevail 18-14 against a Blues outfit cock-a-hoop, after taking out the series in emphatic style.

Significantly, though, NSW came out on top only after dropping the opener 18-14 - the same scoreline as this year.

Crusty old Queensland coach Wayne Bennett has enjoyed the past week, rubbing the result into Sydney journos, who had billed this Reds outfit as the worst in Origin history.

Bennett has made three changes to his starting line-up this week, bringing in Valentine Holmes at fullback, Dunamis Lui at prop and promoting Christchurch-born Jayden Su'A from the bench to the second row.

Gold Coast forward Moeaki Fotuaika will make his Origin debut off the bench.

NSW coach Brad Fittler has dug deeper into his squad in search of improvement from Adelaide.

Injury-plagued captain Boyd Cordner is out again, replaced by Angus Crichton in the second row and James Tedesco as skipper.

Cody Walker has replaced Luke Keary in the halves, Payne Haas moves into the front row, but the bench is entirely changed, with Dale Finucane, Junior Paulo, Nathan Brown and Isaah Yeo awaiting their boarding calls.

The last two will make their Origin debuts.
