Second half

40th minute - Pumas win a penalty and kick for touch, as the fulltime siren sounds. They win the lineout and Ioane is penalised for a deliberate knock-on.

Argentina find touch in NZ territory, they win the lineout, but the ball goes loose and they're in their own half again.

They find space down the left and Berry rules a knock-on against the All Blacks. That's the end of a comprehensive performance by the NZ side, who keep the Pumas scoreless for only the second time - and the second in succession.

39th minute - Matera is penalised for tackling Jordie Barrett in the air and Weber takes a quick tap. All Blacks stream upfield, but Bridge loses the ball within sight of the line.

31st minute - Pumas win a penalty in NZ half and kick for touch.

29th minute - Berry is having to move the scrums across field, because the goal-line area is getting chewed up. Remember, there's another test after this...

TRY to Jacobson

This time, the No.8 simply runs off the back and overpowers his markers to score his second. Jordie Barrett converts, NZ 36-0

28th minute - From another scrum, Weber finds Tupaea charging towards the line, but he's held up. There's another penalty at the scrum, All Blacks want another one, please sir.

26th minute - From the scrum, Jacobson drives off the back and his pack launch off him. Eventually, Blackadder picks up the ball and is driven over by Taukeiaho.

After review, Berry rules a second movement, but goes back for the penalty and Muzzio is sent to the bin. Argentina need another prop.

25th minute - Replays centre on Kremer's high tackle on McKenzie, but Berry rules nothing more than a penalty.

All Blacks call for another scrum in front of the posts.

24th minute - Replays show Matera was the guilty party there, bearing in mind he's already seen yellow this game.

All Blacks call for a scrum and put the shove on, winning a penalty. McKenzie goes on a dart, but the move breaks down.

23rd minute - Vai'i wins the lineout and initially loses the ball, but Pumas' clearance doesn't find touch and the All Blacks are back on attack.

Double blast from Berry, who warns Argentina for persistent infringements.

22nd minute - All Blacks win their scrum on the 22 and pour onto attack. Matera is penalised at the breakdown.

19th minute - All Blacks surge onto attack again, Perenara throws two behind-the-back passes to Reece, who is twice held up just short of the line. He loses the ball on the second occasion, so Pumas have a five-metre defensive scrum.

18th minute - All Blacks have the ball in their own half and Jordie Barrett puts a speculator towards the goal-line. Bofelli clears, but net gain to NZ. Vai'i comes on for Scott Barrett.

17th minute - Pumas drop out, McKenzie puts up a high kick, but Argentina control .

16th minute - Lomax is on for Laulala.

All Blacks win a lineout and Reece shows searing pace towards the line. Argentina try to clear their in-goal area, but can't find touch.

Bridge dashes down the touchline and slides over the line feet first, but we need replays to show whether the ball actually touches the line. The decision is no conclusive evidence - no try.

14th minute - Sanchez leaves for good, hobbling to the sideline. Not a great celebration for becoming his country's most-capped player...

Pumas win a turnover and clear into All Blacks territory.

13th minute - McKenzie has slotted into first-five. Akira Ioane and Jacobson interpass, as they charge towards the line, but the last pass goes astray and Argentina clear.

First half

40th minute - Pumas have the ball in their own half and are penalised, as the siren sounds. Beauden Barrett kicks to the corner for another attacking lineout.

Jacobson wins the lineout, but the Pumas tie them up. All Blacks build phases on the 22, Akira Ioane lunges, Perenara tries a trick behind the back pass to Jordie that goes loose, but Berry double-blasts the whistle and shows the yellow card to Matera.

TRY to Papalii

Scott Barrett wins the lineout, the pack drives over the try-line and Papalii is awarded the try - two crucial strikes in the shadow of halftime have given NZ the scoreboard dominance they deserve.

Jordie Barrett has been handed goalkicking duties - and not before time - and he cooly slots the conversion from wide left, NZ 22-0

39th minute - Pumas kick off, but Havili catches and hoofs into touch on halfway.

37th minute - TRY to Reece

Sanchez is off to the blood bin and All Blacks have an attacking lineout in the corner.

They win at the front and drive to the line. When the ball is released, Havili goes to the line and then Reece burrows his way over.

Barrett hooks his conversion attempt left, NZ 15-0

36th minute - Just metres out from the line, Beauden Barrett slides a kick through for Jordie to chase, but again, he can't reach the ball before it reaches the deadball line... so close. They go back for the penalty.

35th minute - All Blacks playing a penalty advantage, but Perenara hacks a loose ball over halfway and secures possession.

34th minute - Barrett slots his penalty attempt from in front, some reward for all their efforts, NZ 10-0

32nd minute - Retallick wins another lineout and Havili challenges the defence.

31st minute - Jacobson wins a lineout and Aumua makes another damaging run, but Pumas are penalised for entering the breakdown from the side. Beauden Barrett kicks to the corner.

30th minute - Aumua and Akira Ioane run straight and hard, Beauden Barrett grubbers a kick to the corner, but Sanchez clears to halfway.

29th minute - All Blacks must be frustrated that all their possession and territory have only produced seven points.

28th minute - Jacobson tackled and Argentina win another clearing penalty, as an All Black enters from the side - it's Beauden Barrett.

27th minute - After 13 phases, Montoya ties up the breakdown and wins a clearing penalty. Pumas can't find touch and All Blacks launch another attack.

26th minute - All Blacks stringing together phases, but good defence from Argentina.

25th minute - All Blacks are on halfway again and Rieko Ioane makes another telling surge.

16th minute - All Blacks win the lineout and Jacobson puts Rieko Ioane through a space. He races into the 22, but his last pass is cut off by the defence.

15th minute - Beauden kicks to the corner for a lineout, so watch for the drive.

Pumas steal another throw and drive from their line, Sanchez clears to halfway.

14th minute - All Blacks win the lineout at the front, through Jacobson, and earn a penalty. Beauden kicks to the in-goal area, where Jordie chases, wins in the air and forces, but on the deadball line, so no try.

They go back for the lineout penalty.

13th minute - All Blacks in great attacking position, with a lineout inside the 22. Pumas steal the throw, but the ball is loose and they have to clear from behind their line.

10th minute - TRY to Rieko Ioane

Akira Ioane wins a long lineout throw, Reece runs straight and hard, and when the ball comes loose, Rieko Ioane dives on it for the try.

There's some discussion over whose hand knocks the ball loose, but replays show it was an Argentinian, so easy call. Beauden Barrett retains goalkicking duties and duly swing his conversion between the posts, NZ 7-0

Ninth minute - The ball comes right, but Jacobson tries to pop a pass over the top to Aumua and it goes into touch.

Eighth minute - All Blacks have penalty advantage at the lineout, but won't need it, as the backs make good ground into the Pumas half.

Sixth minute - Sanchez kicks to the 22 for a lineout...

Fourth minute - All Blacks solid in the first scrum and they build an attack on halfway.

Second minute - Pumas attack breaks down with a lose pass and the All Blacks will feed a scrum on their side of halfway. Tu'inukuage will need some medical attention to a gash on his head, Joe Moody comes on.

First minute - Nic Berry to referee tonight's game, Beauden Barrett to kick off and Laulala puts on a big tackle in the very first play of the night.

All Blacks win an attacking lineout at the front, but Aumua loses the ball and Argentina pour over halfway.

6:59pm - A reminder that later tonight, Australia will take on world champions South Africa in the second leg of this doubleheader. Can't wait to see how Quade Cooper goes in his comeback...

Love that Argentinian national anthem... sounds like something out of the Pirates of Penzance.

By contrast, the NZ anthem sounds... off key :-/

Los Pumas have the early edge after the anthems. Brodie Retallick doesn't look that scary at the head of the haka.

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live updates of the Rugby Championship clash between the All Blacks and Argentina at the Gold Coast.

After sweeping three Bledisloe Cup tests against Australia - including two Rugby Championship fixtures - New Zealand sit atop the tournament table and now turn their attention to their other rivals, starting with the upstart South Americans.

The All Blacks lost their unbeaten dominance of the Pumas last year, when they were hijacked 25-15 at Sydney, so they won't likely take their rivals lightly again.

Hooker Codie Taylor also left early with a head injury and has not been named in this week's playing squad, replaced by Asafo Aumua in the starting line-up.

Also gone is midfield star Anton Lienert-Brown, who withdrew from the team this morning with a hamstring niggle and was replaced by Rieko Ioane at centre.

Meanwhile, Jordie Barrett has survived a judicial hearing on his red-card kicking offence against Australia, Like Jacobson replaces Savea at No.8, Karl Tu'inukuafe has the start at prop, TJ Perenara will start at halfback, while wings George Bridge and Sevu Reece replace Will Jordan and Ioane.

Whitelock no longer joining All Blacks in Australia, Mo'unga available for final test

Veteran Sam Whitelock will no longer rejoin the All Blacks in Australia.

The All Blacks lock was supposed to fly to Brisbane to start two weeks in hard quarantine, after remaining behind in New Zealand for the birth of his third child.

NZ Rugby (NZR) was only granted an exemption for Whitelock to quarantine in Queensland late on Friday, with his flight delayed until Tuesday.

NZR believes the timing of Whitelock's late arrival would not give him enough time to safely prepare to play against South Africa on October 2.

He will now remain in New Zealand and rejoin the All Blacks squad for their northern hemisphere tour, starting in October.

But All Blacks first-five Richie Mo'unga will fly to Queensland on Tuesday and will be available for the final Rugby Championship test against the world champion Springboks.

Mo'unga, like Whitelock, didn't travel with the All Blacks to Australia last month as he too took paternity leave for the birth of his first child.
