*****

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Rugby Championship clash between the All Blacks and Argentina at Christchurch's OrangeTheory Stadium.

Such a lot has happened since the NZ side last took the park, a fixture that saw them turn the tables on world champions South Africa in a stunning display at Johannesburg's Ellis Park.

That performance was enough to get the public and media off their backs, ending a three-game losing streak for just their second win in seven games.

Most notably, it seemed to earn coach Ian Foster a vote of confidence from his NZ Rugby bosses clear through next year's World Cup, with newly promoted Joe Schmidt elevated to a full assistants role.

The Pumas have only ever beaten New Zealand once - during the 2020 Tri Nations competition - but piled a big loss on Australia in the last outing to take a points-difference lead in the Rugby Championship after two rounds.

Talismanic loose forward Pablo Matera is back on the ground where he enjoyed a fine Super Rugby Pacific season with the champions Crusaders, so his influence cannot be underestimated.

Argentina have never beaten the All Blacks in New Zealand... but never had Ireland and look how that ended.

Foster has been forced into one change to his Ellis Park line-up, with Beauden Barrett ruled out by a niggly neck injury and Blues understudy Stephen Perofeta eyeing a test debut off the bench.

Join us at 7:45pm for the late kickoff, after the Wallabies v South Africa clash at Adelaide.
