80+2min - Hurricanes making a hash of their final possession, losing the ball twice as they concede the penalty just a couple metres out from the tryline.

80min - Hurricanes look to maul from their lineout and win the penalty, with the Highlanders pinged for coming in from the side. They will have another lineout.

78min - Savea makes a good tackle to drive his opposite backwards, before Hicks almost gets through a hole, and Howden gets over the top of him to win the penalty.

76min - HIGHLANDERS TRY - HARMON

Highlanders win their own lineout and find Harmon on the charge, and he splits two defenders to crash over for the try! Made that look so easy.

74min - Kirifi nails Fakatava in the tackle to stop a dangerous threat and the Hurricanes do well to win the turnover and Barrett kicks long.

72min - Highlanders read the Hurricanes set-play move well and rush up on Savea, before Barrett kicks long for Gilbert to run back.

70min - Ball squirts free for Fakatava and he finds Umaga-Jensen, who makes another strong carry, beating several defenders on his way to the 22m but Gregory knocks on.

68min - Millar tries an audacious pass over the top but it's well forward, and we'll come back for the offside penalty with Iose the guilty party.

66min - HURRICANES TRY - RAYASI

Booth fools everyone with a dummy pass from the breakdown and he's away! He commits Umaga-Jensen and finds Rayasi with the offload who scores his second.

64min - Barrett tries a jab in-behind but Gilbert is there to clean up, and he's met around the ankles by Kirifi to cut him down quickly.

62min - Fakatava does brilliantly to get over the ball and steal it back for the Highlanders, before the home team clears. Umaga-Jensen makes a great hit on Kirifi.

60min - Dawai tries to intercept but he can't hang on! He would've been away - instead, we'll come back for a Hurricanes scrum. Could've been a try either way.

58min - Hurricanes look to attack the right side from the scrum and Proctor is away! He tries the one-handed pass on the inside but Highlanders do well to disrupt it and win it back.

56min - Gilbert puts Lowe into space down the left wing, and he kicks through...Moorby looks to have knocked on but the referee says otherwise and the Highlanders will settle for the lineout.

54min - Savea finds Proctor following the restart, the Highlanders look to pile the pressure on at the breakdown but knock on right after they won the ball back.

52min - HURRICANES TRY - ROIGAARD

Millar does well to step the rush defence, followed up by a strong Umaga-Jensen run. Fakatava tries a cheeky pass but Roigaard reads it like a book and intercepts to race away 60 metres to score another Hurricanes' try.

49min - HURRICANES TRY - BLACKWELL

Proctor gets the legs pumping and almost carries right to the tryline. Hurricanes just a couple metres out, and Roigaard gives it to Blackwell and the lock does well to navigate the goal posts and find the tryline.

46min - Rayasi slips one tackle but Renton gets over the top of the ball to win a relieving penalty. Millar finds touch outside the Highlanders 22m.

45min - Highlanders are penalised again - this time for collapsing the maul and Savea tells Barrett to kick for touch for another attacking lineout.

44min - Parkinson looks to steal the ball but is penalised for no clear release and Barrett finds touch for a five-metre attacking lineout for the Hurricanes.

42min - Morgan and Barrett combine to put Blackwell into a gap up the middle. Highlanders do well though to usher Rayasi towards touch but Hurricanes get the scrum for a knock on.

HALFTIME

40min - Morgan knocks in inside his own 22m and the Highlanders will have one last shot before the break but they are penalised for an illegal cleanout and that's halftime.

39min - Hurricanes get the shove on this time at the scrum, but the short pass is dropped, and the Highlanders clear through Gilbert.

38min - Gilbert can't come down with Roigaard's box kick and the Hurricanes have it back. Roigaard kicks long this time, the Hurricanes chase is good and carry Millar into his own in-goal for a five-metre scrum.

36min - Another penalty for the Hurricanes with Harmon pinged for going off his feet. Barrett will line up the shot at goal and makes no mistake to give his side the lead.

34min - De Groot puts Lowe into some space and the Highlanders are just a few metres out, but Makalio is penalised for holding on and the Hurricanes can breathe.

32min - Highlanders have the five-metre scrum and win ANOTHER penalty. No surprise they opt for another put-in. Lowe puts his head down and charges for the tryline but is held up.

30min - Harmon goes close off the back of the lineout, and Coles is penalised for not supporting his bodyweight. Hurricanes must be close to having a man sent off.

28min - Highlanders win their own lineout and are just 10 metres out. Kirifi tries to steal the ball but the referee rules he went past the ball and is penalised.

26min - Dawai decides to end the kicking between the teams and makes a good run into the Hurricanes' half, and the Highlanders win the penalty - Barrett pinged for not rolling.

Highlanders opt for the scrum right underneath the goal posts, Renton takes the ball from the back and sets off on a charge and crashes over for the try! Pure pace and power.

14min - HURRICANES TRY - RAYASI

Phases up to 14 now as the Hurricanes earn the penalty advantage just five metres out from the tryline. They go left to Rayasi, he shows the ball, before riding to tackles and stretches his arm to score the game's first try.

10min - Kirifi is put through a hole and busts a couple of tackles, but Rayasi's hands let him down and knocks on in a very promising field position.

8min - Frizell taking a few tacklers with him with a very strong carry, but the Highlanders guilty of forcing the pass and knock on to relieve the pressure on the Hurricanes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ki ora, good evening, and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Super Rugby Pacific clash between the Highlanders and Hurricanes at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

The hosts are riding a three-match win streak, but are still looking for their first over Kiwi opposition, and it doesn't get any easier tonight.

The Hurricanes sit third on the table with just one defeat all season, but can go top with a win tonight, with current leaders Chiefs on a bye week.

A victory for the Highlanders could see them leapfrog the Blues temporarily, with their game against the Melbourne Rebels later on Saturday.

Their task will be made harder without the services of halfback Aaron Smith, who has returned to Fielding for family reasons.
