A woman who escaped a kidnapping attempt in Australia has gone missing, after fleeing from her would-be captors.

Stacey Reynolds was last seen being dragged from her car by two people in New South Wales, reports 9 News Australia.

The kidnapping attempt was caught on CCTV. In the footage, the would-be abductors were seen jumping on the 44-year-old woman's car, breaking its windscreen and then attempting to drag her out of the vehicle.

Reynolds then managed to fend off the attackers, before fleeing.

One witness told 9 News she saw people "stomping viciously" on top of the car, and then dragging her to another car up the street.

"They were having a great deal of trouble getting her in the boot... I just sort of made a noise, like maybe that'll slow them down or something meanwhile I'm on the phone to the police trying to get them to hurry," the witness told 9 News.

Reynolds was last seen running away from her alleged attackers and has not been seen since.

NSW police confirmed to 9 News the woman was herself wanted by police for fraud and domestic violence-related offences.

In a post on social media, police said they had concerns she may have been injured in the kidnapping attempt.

"Police have been told two men approached a parked Holden Tigra on Boondilla St before jumping on it, damaging the windscreen and bonnet," a post on the NSW Police Force's Facebook page said.

"The female occupant was removed from the vehicle and dragged towards a nearby silver hatchback before she was able to break free."

The woman's alleged attackers also remain on the run.
