Rumours have been swirling over who will be headlining 2018 Coachella for a while now, and it looks like Eminem, Beyoncé and The Weeknd will be taking the stage.

Consequence of Sound reported on Friday (local time) the music heavyweights will be headlining the desert music festival next April. While no official announcement has been made, the publication has correctly reported the headlining acts in the past couple of years.

It would be the first time topping the festival's bill for all three performers. Eminem made his first and only appearance as a surprise guest of Dr Dre in 2012. The 'Lose Yourself' artist is coming off releasing his Revival album, which dropped just last Friday (local time).

Beyoncé was set to perform at 2017 Coachella, but had to pull out because she was pregnant.

The Weeknd has performed twice already at Coachella, although never as top billing.

Noteworthy is the fact that, for the first time in the festival's history, a rock band will not appear at the top of the bill.

Coachella is widely regarded to be America's biggest music festival, taking place over two April weekends in California. The 19th year of the festival will return April 13-15 and April 20-22.

An official announcement, and general ticket sales, will be released in January.
