After winning the Moto X Freestyle gold on Saturday (NZT), Sherwood has returned to the track to claim gold in the Moto X best trick final.

Sherwood landed a no-handed double backflip on his first run and got a score of 92.00, leading after the first round.

His second run saw him land his nak-nak double backflip for a score of 92.33.

The silver and bronze were won by Australian pair Jackson Strong and Clinton Moore respectively.

The win means Sherwood now has five X Games medals in his career.

Meanwhile, history was made earlier in the day when 13 year old skateboarder Brighton Zeuner became the youngest gold medallist in X Games history.

The California native won gold in the women's skate park final after she finished fourth in last year's event.
