The most popular in-flight TV shows and movies of 2019

The list of the most-watched movies and television shows from Air New Zealand's entertainment system has been revealed.

The most popular title of the year was Bohemian Rhapsody, which was viewed more than 230,000 times.

Children's content was also popular with 200,000 views of Paw Patrol.

Air New Zealand has also just been voted one of the best airlines in the world for in-flight entertainment.

It placed fourth behind Turkish Airlines, Emirates and American Airlines. The rest of the top ten consisted of Etihad, Lufthansa, Air China, China Southern Airlines, Air Canada and Singapore Airlines.

Long movies are still popular on long flights. Lord of the Rings remains one of the most popular titles on-board.

Fellowship of the Ring averages almost 5000 views every month. 

Arguably the biggest TV show of 2019, Chernobyl, was viewed 2.5 times more than the latest season of Game of Thrones
