Australian man causes internet outrage over loaf of bread

Move along blue or gold dress, see you later pink or white sneakers  - it's time for a humble loaf of bread to create the internet outrage.

An Australian posted a picture of the loaf in question to a local Facebook page, which had the audacity to be stored in a fridge.

He captioned the post with: "Seriously! Who puts bread in the fridge?"

In the post, which was published on Australian news outlet news.com.au, the man explained the fridge was at his workplace in Perth, known to reach temperatures of 40C in the summer months.

The post triggered a heated debate, with many Australians insisting that due to their country's climate, refrigerating bread was quite normal.

"Mine goes mouldy...in a few days especially during warm weather so always fridge it," one woman reportedly wrote.

"Fridge or freezer…lasts longer," another fridge-lover wrote.

One commenter wrote those who stored their bread in the fridge were "the same people who put tomato sauce in the pantry".

The bread debate confused the Newshub Digital team, who all reported they prefer a fridge/freezer combination.

This excluded managing editor Mark Longley, who baffled his colleagues by stating: "In my house, we have bread everywhere".
