PureBlack cycling team set to fold
New Zealand's PureBlack road cycling team look set to collapse for a second time in a year after a disagreement around team ownership and control.
Cycling website cyclingnews.com says riders signed for 2013 have been told by team director sportif John Harris they'll need to find alternative arrangements.
PureBlack Racing were launched in 2010, aiming at becoming New Zealand's first international UCI ProTour road cycling team. But in February this year, BikeNZ had to step in when it seemed financial troubles would force the team's closure.
The partnership saw PureBlack resurrected as a combined under-23 team, racing in Asia, Europe and Australia.
PureBlack business director Greg Cross and BikeNZ chief executive Kieran Turner could not be reached for comment.
